Driveway Widening Dublin — Extensions and Second Car Space

Extend or widen your existing driveway to fit two cars or improve access.

A lot of Dublin homes — particularly the semi-detached houses from the 1970s–90s — were built with single-width driveways that are tight for modern cars. Widening an existing driveway to fit two cars, or extending a short driveway to the boundary, is one of the most common jobs we do.

The challenge in widening is matching the existing surface. If the current driveway is block paving, we'll source matching blocks as closely as possible (an exact match on an older driveway can be difficult, and we'll be honest about this). If it's tarmac, the new tarmac will blend once it weathers. In some cases, widening gives the opportunity to resurface the whole driveway at the same time, which produces a uniform result.

We'll advise on the best approach at the site survey and give you a written quote within 24 hours.

Matching or complementary blocks extended alongside the existing driveway.

Tarmac extension

Full resurface

Sometimes the best option is to extend the footprint and resurface the whole driveway at the same time for a uniform result.
