Imprinted Concrete Dublin — Pattern Imprinted Driveways and Patios

Pattern imprinted concrete (also called stamped or printed concrete) is a poured concrete driveway that is coloured and textured while still wet to mimic block paving, cobblestones, brick or natural stone. The result is a continuous, joint-free surface with the appearance of premium paving at a lower cost. A huge range of patterns and colours is available, so the finish can be matched to the style of your home.

Because it's a single slab rather than individual units, there are no joints for weeds to grow through — one of its biggest practical advantages.

The process is exacting and has to be done right first time, because the texture is set permanently as the concrete cures. We prepare a compacted sub-base, pour and reinforce the slab, apply colour surface hardener, then stamp the chosen pattern using textured mats before the concrete sets. Release agents give the colour depth and stop the mats sticking. Control joints are cut to manage movement, and a sealant is applied once cured to protect the colour and surface.

Imprinted concrete is low-maintenance but does need periodic re-sealing — typically every three to five years — to keep the colour vivid and protect the surface from wear and UV fade. Beyond that, an occasional wash is all it needs. The sealant also makes the surface easier to clean and more resistant to oil and stain marks. Re-sealing is a straightforward job we can carry out as aftercare.
