Imprinted Concrete Dublin — Pattern Imprinted Driveways and Patios
Patterned, coloured concrete driveways and patios with the look of stone or cobbles at lower cost.
Imprinted concrete — sometimes called pattern imprinted concrete or stamped concrete — gives the appearance of cobblestone, natural slate, old brick or other patterns at a lower installation cost than the real thing. The concrete is poured, coloured with a hardener, and then stamped with pattern tools before it cures. A release agent is used to create a two-tone colour effect that mimics natural variation in stone.
The result looks good when installed correctly — rich colour, clear pattern, and it handles traffic well. The caveat with imprinted concrete is that it needs periodic resealing (typically every 3–5 years) to maintain the colour and protect the surface. Sealer that isn't refreshed allows weathering to grey and dull the surface. We install and we'll advise you on the maintenance cycle at handover.

Materials and Options
Cobblestone pattern
The most popular pattern in Ireland. Circular or rectangular cobble impression. Multiple colour options.
Ashlar slate pattern
Rectangular flagstone impression, mimics cut slate. Clean, contemporary look.
Old brick pattern
Running bond or basket weave brick impression. Suits traditional homes.
Seamless textures
No defined pattern — a textured, non-slip surface with colour but without the joint lines.
Our Installation Process
- 1
Preparation
Excavation, sub-base, formwork, and reinforcement as per concrete driveway.
- 2
Colour hardener
Colour hardener powder broadcast and floated into the wet concrete surface.
- 3
Release agent
Release agent applied in a contrasting shade to prevent the stamp from sticking and add colour depth.
- 4
Stamping
Pattern stamps pressed into the surface before the concrete sets. This requires working quickly and systematically across the area.
- 5
Cutting and sealing
After curing, expansion joints are cut, the surface cleaned, and sealer applied.
