Fencing Dublin — Timber, Concrete and Metal Fencing Installation
Timber, concrete post and rail, and metal fencing supply and installation across Dublin.
We install fencing as part of complete outdoor projects — driveways, patios and landscaping — and as standalone jobs. We work with treated timber (close-boarded, lap panel, picket), concrete post and gravel board systems, and metal railings. We advise on the most appropriate option for the application, whether that's a secure boundary, a decorative front garden fence, or a combination of fencing and walling.
Every fencing installation starts with properly set posts — concrete-set timber posts or driven concrete posts, depending on the system. Posts that aren't right are the single most common cause of fencing failure. We don't cut corners on post setting.

Fencing Options We Install
Fencing provides privacy, security and shelter, and the right choice depends on what matters most to you. Timber fencing — close-board, panel and post-and-rail — is the traditional, cost-effective choice and suits most gardens. Concrete posts and gravel boards extend the life of any timber fence by keeping the timber off the ground. Metal and railing fencing offers security and a more formal look for front boundaries.
We'll advise on the option that best suits your boundary, budget and how much maintenance you want to take on.
Building a Fence That Lasts
A fence is only as strong as its posts. Irish weather — wind and persistent damp — is hard on poorly installed fencing, so we set posts in concrete to the correct depth, use concrete posts or gravel boards to protect timber from ground moisture, and space posts to suit the exposure of the site. On windy and coastal boundaries we specify accordingly, because an under-built fence simply blows down in the first storm.
Fencing and Maintenance
Timber fencing benefits from periodic treatment with a quality preserver to resist rot and keep its colour — concrete-post systems reduce this upkeep considerably by keeping the vulnerable base of the timber off the wet ground. Metal fencing needs little beyond an occasional check of fixings. We'll explain the maintenance each option needs so you can choose with the long term in mind, not just the install-day appearance.
Materials and Options
Close-boarded timber
Featheredge boards on rails between timber or concrete posts. The standard garden fence.
Lap panel fencing
Overlapping horizontal panels. Lower cost, less durable than close-boarded.
Concrete post and gravel board
Concrete posts with concrete gravel boards at base and timber featheredge panels above. Longer-lasting than all-timber.
Metal railings
Galvanised or powder-coated metal railings for front boundaries, driveways, and steps.
